SPECIMEN ROUTING JIGS

Various types of standard test specimen routing jigs such as those shown here are available, and special configurations can be designed and fabricated to each customer's unique specifications. Use of routing jigs permits test specimens to be prepared to accurate dimensions in a very repeatable and efficient manner.

These jigs are typically fabricated of 17-4PH stainless steel, to avoid rusting and corrosion problems associated using them to rout test specimens in the presence of cutting fluids. Aluminum 6061-T6 can also be used, if desired, but 17-4PH stainless steel is much more rigid and durable.
