RESIN CASTING MOLDS

It is often necessary to characterize the mechanical properties of the polymer to be used as the matrix material in a new composite material system. Thermoset polymer specimens can often be cast to finish dimensions in open molds.

The mold shown in the photograph below is used to cast flat dog-boned tensile specimens. Many other mold configurations are also available.
